El material captura el valor de las emisiones de CO2 para crear una materia prima que est\u00e1 libre de gases de efecto invernadero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inga es un<strong> PHA (polihidroxialcanoato), y puede biodegradarse (bajo condiciones espec\u00edficas).<\/strong> Las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas pueden modificarse de diferentes maneras, con lo cual se convierten en materiales muy vers\u00e1tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/tonyrehn1982?originalSubdomain=fi\">Tony Rehn, l\u00edder del equipo de desarrollo de Inga,<\/a> afirma que \u201ces tiempo de repensar la producci\u00f3n de pl\u00e1sticos y de independizarnos de las fuentes f\u00f3siles. Se requiere cada vez m\u00e1s pl\u00e1stico sostenible de alta calidad que pueda utilizarse en varias aplicaciones\u201d. De acuerdo con Rehn, este material puede biodegradarse \u00edntegramente sin dejar micropl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los pl\u00e1sticos Inga pueden ajustarse a diferentes perfiles de propiedades. <strong>La rigidez y durabilidad los hacen aptos para aplicaciones electr\u00f3nicas,<\/strong> juguetes y empaques cosm\u00e9ticos. Gracias a sus excelentes propiedades de barrera al ox\u00edgeno y al vapor de agua, adem\u00e1s de una baja transmisibilidad de ox\u00edgeno y alta resistencia a las grasas, proveen una soluci\u00f3n segura y sostenible para aplicaciones de empaque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cerrando el ciclo de carbono<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d100mj7v0l85u5.cloudfront.net\/s3fs-public\/inline-images\/bioplastico-producido-a-partir-de-co2-1.jpg\" alt=\"Biopl\u00e1stico producido a partir de CO2\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Se espera que la demanda mundial de<strong> pl\u00e1sticos se triplique de aqu\u00ed a 2050<\/strong>, mientras que el reciclaje de pl\u00e1sticos aumenta a un ritmo lento. Algunos pl\u00e1sticos no se pueden reciclar mec\u00e1nicamente para obtener un nuevo material. La producci\u00f3n de pl\u00e1sticos de origen biol\u00f3gico est\u00e1 limitada por la disponibilidad de materias primas como la madera, la remolacha azucarera, la ca\u00f1a de az\u00facar y los aceites vegetales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cQueremos promover la circulaci\u00f3n de materiales de forma integral. <strong>Creemos que INGA abrir\u00e1 el camino a una categor\u00eda completamente<\/strong> nueva de pl\u00e1sticos responsables, aunque todav\u00eda se necesitan el reciclaje mec\u00e1nico de pl\u00e1sticos y soluciones de origen biol\u00f3gico\u201d, aclara Rehn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>INGA se puede reciclar como muchos otros pl\u00e1sticos, cerrando el ciclo del carbono. Una ventaja adicional del pl\u00e1stico biodegradable es que se descompone y no deja micropl\u00e1sticos da\u00f1inos en el medio ambiente.
