Producirlo cuesta alrededor de 2,300 d\u00f3lares por tonelada, similar al costo de muchos pl\u00e1sticos convencionales.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n en <strong>biopl\u00e1sticos<\/strong> avanza cada d\u00eda y aunque todav\u00eda existen diferentes retos para su aplicaci\u00f3n a gran escala, nuevos desarrollos nos acercan m\u00e1s a los materiales ecol\u00f3gicamente amigables y eficientes. Ejemplo de esto es un nuevo tipo de biopl\u00e1stico elaborado por un equipo de cient\u00edficos chinos a partir de bamb\u00fa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigadores de la<strong> Universidad de Tecnolog\u00eda Qu\u00edmica de Shenyang<\/strong>, en China, publicaron un estudio en la revista <em>Nature Communications<\/em> en el que destacan el desarrollo de un nuevo <strong>biopl\u00e1stico molecular de bamb\u00fa<\/strong>, llamado pl\u00e1stico BM, que podr\u00eda rivalizar con los pl\u00e1sticos convencionales en rendimiento, adem\u00e1s de ser totalmente biodegradable y reciclable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abLa dependencia global de los pl\u00e1sticos petroqu\u00edmicos ha provocado graves crisis ambientales, lo que requiere alternativas sostenibles que combinen alto rendimiento con circularidad\u00bb, escriben los autores en el estudio.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 el bamb\u00fa?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>El bamb\u00fa es una de las materias primas m\u00e1s sostenibles del planeta. Puede crecer hasta un metro por d\u00eda y generar cinco veces m\u00e1s biomasa que la madera, lo que lo convierte en una fuente renovable ideal. Hasta hace poco, los <strong>pl\u00e1sticos basados en bamb\u00fa<\/strong> eran simples compuestos de fibras mezcladas con resinas sint\u00e9ticas, lo que les daba resistencia, pero no biodegradabilidad total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El nuevo m\u00e9todo desarrollado en China cambia esto desde la ra\u00edz. El proceso consiste en sumergir la celulosa de bamb\u00fa en un disolvente eut\u00e9ctico profundo (mezcla de cloruro de zinc y \u00e1cido f\u00f3rmico), lo que descompone los enlaces de <strong>hidr\u00f3geno de la celulosa.<\/strong> Luego, al a\u00f1adir una peque\u00f1a cantidad de etanol, las mol\u00e9culas se reorganizan en una red m\u00e1s densa y estable, dando origen al pl\u00e1stico BM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ambienteplastico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/foto_bamboo_plastic_071025-1-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un material fuerte, flexible y totalmente biodegradable<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>El resultado es un biopl\u00e1stico moldeable, resistente y flexible que supera en rendimiento al <strong>ABS<\/strong> y al <strong>PLA<\/strong>, dos de los materiales m\u00e1s utilizados en autopartes e impresi\u00f3n 3D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre sus caracter\u00edsticas destacan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Resistencia t\u00e9rmica superior a 180 \u00b0C<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Degradaci\u00f3n completa en suelo natural en solo 50 d\u00edas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resistencia a la tracci\u00f3n de 110 MPa, el doble que la del PLA o el poliestireno de alto impacto (HIPS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>M\u00f3dulo de flexi\u00f3n de 6,4 GPa, lo que lo hace r\u00edgido y estable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conserva el 90 % de su resistencia original tras ser reciclado<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, el pl\u00e1stico BM resisti\u00f3 sin da\u00f1os pruebas extremas: exposici\u00f3n a 100 \u00b0C durante una semana, congelaci\u00f3n a -30 \u00b0C y 70 % de humedad por un mes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cEl pl\u00e1stico BM supera a la mayor\u00eda de los pl\u00e1sticos comerciales en rendimiento mec\u00e1nico y t\u00e9rmico, manteniendo al mismo tiempo su biodegradabilidad total\u201d, se\u00f1ala el estudio.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Competitivo y viable para la industria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su desempe\u00f1o t\u00e9cnico, el nuevo biopl\u00e1stico de bamb\u00fa tambi\u00e9n es econ\u00f3micamente competitivo. Producirlo cuesta alrededor de <strong>2,300 d\u00f3lares por tonelada<\/strong>, similar al costo de muchos pl\u00e1sticos convencionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gran parte de su eficiencia proviene de la reutilizaci\u00f3n de los disolventes y del etanol empleados en el proceso, lo que reduce el impacto ambiental y los costos operativos.
