Aunque es innegable que la mala gesti\u00f3n de sus residuos ha generado un gran problema ambiental, un equipo de investigadores estudia las capacidades de los pl\u00e1sticos para <strong>absorber CO2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>Estrategia de la Industria Espa\u00f1ola de los Pl\u00e1sticos,<\/strong> presentada en conjunto entre la plataforma <a href=\"https:\/\/esplasticos.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EsPl\u00e1sticos<\/a> y el Ministerio de la Industria, se centra en el reciclaje sostenible como base de la <strong>econom\u00eda circular<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Jos\u00e9 Antonio Costa<\/strong>, portavoz de EsPl\u00e1sticos y director del <strong>Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico del Pl\u00e1stico,<\/strong> detall\u00f3 en declaraciones a medios espa\u00f1oles que el desarrollo de pl\u00e1sticos de origen biol\u00f3gico avanza a buen ritmo, adem\u00e1s, los pl\u00e1sticos pueden convertirse en un aliado en la lucha contra el cambio clim\u00e1tico, ya que son capaces de absorber CO2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cEse CO\u2082 lo podemos utilizar tambi\u00e9n de nuevo, para fabricar nuevos pl\u00e1sticos\u00bb, detall\u00f3.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>En ese sentido, mencion\u00f3 que desde EsPl\u00e1sticos se busca definir las l\u00edneas de acci\u00f3n para afrontar los retos que le deparan al sector. Para ello, buscar\u00e1 centrar\u00e1 sus acciones en pilares como:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transformaci\u00f3n digital<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ecodise\u00f1o<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fabricaci\u00f3n sostenible<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reciclaje avanzado<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ambienteplastico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/linea_ap106-600x338.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo pueden los pl\u00e1sticos absorber CO\u2082?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque los pl\u00e1sticos no absorben CO\u2082 de manera natural, investigadores de la Universidad de Rice (Estados Unidos) han desarrollado un proceso innovador que convierte pl\u00e1sticos postconsumo en un sorbente de CO\u2082, capaz de capturar emisiones en<strong> chimeneas industriales<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, ciertos pl\u00e1sticos pueden modificarse qu\u00edmicamente para incluir grupos funcionales como aminas o hidroxilos, los cuales tienen una alta afinidad por el CO\u2082. Estos pol\u00edmeros pueden unirse al gas mediante <strong>reacciones qu\u00edmicas,<\/strong> formando compuestos estables y contribuyendo as\u00ed a la reducci\u00f3n de su concentraci\u00f3n en la atm\u00f3sfera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Innovaci\u00f3n y sostenibilidad: el futuro de los pl\u00e1sticos<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El potencial de los pl\u00e1sticos para mitigar el cambio clim\u00e1tico es un \u00e1rea de investigaci\u00f3n en r\u00e1pido crecimiento.
