El objetivo fue &nbsp;acelerar la conversi\u00f3n de residuos industriales de<strong> Polietil\u00e9n Tereftalato&nbsp;<\/strong> (PET), en espec\u00edfico el \u00e1cido tereft\u00e1lico, un componente clave empleado para fabricar envases de pl\u00e1stico (especialmente botellas) en paracetamol en menos de 24 horas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo lo hicieron?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El nuevo proceso se logr\u00f3 gracias a una reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica que recibe el nombre de<strong> reordenamiento de Lossen<\/strong>, y que fue posible gracias al fosfato que contiene la bacteria <em>E.coli<\/em> en su interior. Cabe destacar que el proceso logr\u00f3 producir un tipo de compuesto org\u00e1nico que contiene nitr\u00f3geno, esencial para el metabolismo celular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahora bien, los cient\u00edficos tambi\u00e9n utilizaron m\u00e9todos qu\u00edmicos para<a href=\"https:\/\/ambienteplastico.com\/hidrogeno-limpio-a-partir-de-residuos-plasticos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> degradar las <strong>botellas de PET<\/strong><\/a> y producir la mol\u00e9cula de partida para la reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica. Luego de intensivas pruebas, se demostr\u00f3 que el metabolismo celular puede aprovechar de forma positiva la mol\u00e9cula resultante de la descomposici\u00f3n del pl\u00e1stico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo m\u00e1s impresionante de las pruebas fue que el equipo de investigaci\u00f3n descubri\u00f3 que est\u00e1 mol\u00e9cula tambi\u00e9n puede utilizarse para producir paracetamol con un <strong>rendimiento del 92%<\/strong>. M\u00e1s de un 90% del producto fabricado a trav\u00e9s de esta reacci\u00f3n, era el principio activo de este medicamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reutilizar m\u00e1s y de mejor manera los residuos pl\u00e1sticos<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El hallazgo, liderado por <strong>Esteban Wallace<\/strong>, representa el primer caso de producci\u00f3n de paracetamol a partir de desechos pl\u00e1sticos mediante el uso de la bacteria <em>E. coli<\/em>. Futuras investigaciones en este campo podr\u00edan explorar si el proceso es replicable con otros tipos de bacterias y pl\u00e1sticos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, los autores del estudio destacan que este m\u00e9todo apenas genera <strong>emisiones de di\u00f3xido de carbono<\/strong>, lo que lo convierte en una alternativa m\u00e1s sostenible que los procesos actuales de fabricaci\u00f3n de f\u00e1rmacos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las f\u00e1bricas utilizan miles de toneladas de combustibles f\u00f3siles para poder funcionar y producir paracetamol, otros medicamentos y sustancias qu\u00edmicas.
