Este m\u00e9todo pionero permite reutilizar el material de las palas sin utilizar productos qu\u00edmicos agresivos ni procesos costosos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>El reto del reciclaje del GFRP<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El foco de esta innovaci\u00f3n es el <strong>pol\u00edmero reforzado con fibra de vidrio (GFRP, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s)<\/strong>, un material que representa hasta dos tercios del peso de una pala de turbina e\u00f3lica. Ligero, fuerte y resistente, el GFRP ha sido clave en la fabricaci\u00f3n de turbinas desde la d\u00e9cada de 1990. Sin embargo, su estructura termoestable \u2014a diferencia de los termopl\u00e1sticos reciclables como los utilizados en envases\u2014 dificulta su procesamiento al final de su vida \u00fatil, que suele rondar los 20 a 25 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ambienteplastico.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/foto_wind_energy_030425-1-600x338.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como resultado, miles de palas e\u00f3licas terminan en vertederos cada a\u00f1o, agravando el problema de los residuos industriales. Adem\u00e1s, durante la fabricaci\u00f3n de palas nuevas, se desperdicia hasta un 15% del material, lo que genera un volumen adicional de residuos desde el inicio del proceso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tecnolog\u00eda verde con bajo impacto ambiental<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>La soluci\u00f3n propuesta por la WSU se basa en un proceso de <strong>reciclaje sostenible y escalable<\/strong>, con bajo impacto ambiental. El GFRP se corta en peque\u00f1os bloques y se somete a un ba\u00f1o de agua supercalentada con acetato de zinc, una sal org\u00e1nica no t\u00f3xica utilizada en medicamentos y alimentos. En aproximadamente dos horas, este m\u00e9todo permite recuperar <strong>fibras de vidrio de alta resistencia<\/strong> y resinas en condiciones \u00f3ptimas, listas para reutilizarse en nuevos productos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abA medida que la energ\u00eda e\u00f3lica crece, el reciclaje de las turbinas se vuelve urgente\u00bb, explic\u00f3 Jinwen Zhang, profesor de Ingenier\u00eda Mec\u00e1nica y de Materiales en WSU. \u00abNuestro m\u00e9todo es eficiente, ecol\u00f3gico y rentable\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Materiales reciclados con propiedades mejoradas<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Una de las grandes ventajas de esta tecnolog\u00eda es su <strong>versatilidad<\/strong>. Las fibras de vidrio y resinas recuperadas \u2014hasta un 70% del GFRP procesado\u2014 pueden incorporarse directamente a pl\u00e1sticos como el <strong>nailon<\/strong>, sin necesidad de separarlas completamente.
